Bulgaria is a member of the both European Union and the Schengen travel area. The capital is Sofia, and the population is around 7 million. It is bordered by Greece to the south, Turkey to the south east, Romania to the north, and Serbia and Macedonia to the west.

About Bansko
Bansko is a ski resort about 2 hours south of Sofia. Nestled between the Pirin, Rhodophe, and Rila mountain ranges. Known mostly for its famous skiing, it is also a great place to visit in Summer and Autumn, and has great mountain views.
Climate
Situated in the Pirin Mountains of southwestern Bulgaria, Bansko experiences a transitional climate that blends continental and alpine influences. In late September, Bansko typically enjoys pleasant daytime temperatures averaging around 23°C, with cooler nights dropping to approximately 10°C.
